1-4 inches of snow expected in Chicago area Thursday
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect 11 p.m. Wednesday night through 2 p.m. Thursday. Snowfall amounts will range from 1 inch near the Wisconsin state line to 4 inches for areas to the south and west.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory for snow for Kane, DuPage, Cook, Kendall, Grundy, Will and Lake counties.
This will be a slightly colder storm than the last two and the snow will be falling overnight when there are not many people on the roads. Hopefully, the plows can get out there and do some salting early before the morning commute.
Another chance of light snow moves late Friday night with very little accumulation.
Then, it’s a taste of some early spring temperatures next week.
However, some Chicagoans are still excited for the snow.
"We are looking for a good snow, so the kids can have a good snow to play, because we are almost to the end of the winter it's going to be the spring, so we are really looking forward to this,” said father Manish Kaistha.
"We want a little snow, so they can sled. I’m ready for spring, the parents definitely,” said father Saju Abraham.
Slippery, snow-covered roads and limited visibility will affect the morning commute, according to the weather service.
