2019 Fleet Week New York

Four U.S. Navy ships, three U.S. Coast Guard cutters, four U.S. Naval Academy Yard Patrol boats, and two Royal Canadian Navy vessels are arriving in the New York Harbor to participate in the 2019 Fleet Week New York Parade of Ships.

The ships can be seen along the Hudson River from Battery Park to just south of the George Washington Bridge. Fort Hamilton is scheduled to conduct an 11-gun salute to the flagship, USS New York, as the ship passes by.

Ship tours will be conducted throughout the week in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note: Ship tours will be closed Sunday, May 26 on Pier 88 in Manhattan, and ship tours in Brooklyn will only be available Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27 after USS Hué City arrives to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal on Saturday, May 25.

Ship tours on Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, Pier 86, will be conducted daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note: Tours on Thursday, May 23 will be open until 3 p.m. due to a private function.

Visitors should plan to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. All bags and/or camera cases will be searched prior to entering. Guests should avoid open-toed sandals, high heels, necklaces or other items that can get caught, as well as bags that are too heavy to carry comfortably. Sunscreen and/or sunglasses advised.

There is no age requirement to tour the ships during Fleet Week, however, adult visitors over the age of 18 are required to show a valid state or federally-issued picture ID. Additionally, tours may not be appropriate for small children or those with certain medical conditions. Strollers or baby carriages are permitted on the pier, but not allowed on the ships.

Ships are not handicap accessible. The pier facilities in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island – including the exhibit, observation, refreshment, and restroom areas – are handicap accessible.

Photography is permitted aboard the ships during tours, however, photos of security personnel or procedures are prohibited.

The following are not permitted: electronic smoking devices, bottles, water bottles, cans or glass containers of any type; banners, posters or signs of any type; mace, pepper spray, or other defensive sprays or chemicals; knives, firearms, fireworks or any explosive; illegal drugs or paraphernalia; flammable liquids or aerosol spray cans; club weapons; and animals. All electronic devices are subject to examination for functionality. The military services reserve the right to prohibit other items not listed above.

Food will not be available on the ships, but visitors will be able to purchase bottled water and some food items at concession stands near the piers.
