Chicago weather: Chilly start to the day with single-digit lows and clear skies
CHICAGO - It’s another frigid morning across the area, with temperatures starting in the single digits.
However, lighter winds mean wind chills are only slightly below zero. Clear skies dominate the early hours, but clouds are expected to move in from the southwest later in the day. Highs will reach the mid-20s.
Friday night will remain dry, with temperatures holding steady.
Rainfall is still expected on Saturday, but its arrival looks delayed until the afternoon or evening. Temperatures will rise above freezing, peaking just below 40 degrees. While initially frozen surfaces could pose a brief hazard when rain begins, the likelihood of freezing conditions remains low.
Rain is expected to taper off Sunday morning, though cloudy skies will linger.
Highs will climb into the mid-40s. Even milder air will settle in on Monday as another storm system brings rain to the area. Temperatures will drop to the mid-30s later next week.
