Dolton man charged in fatal Englewood shooting

CHICAGO - A Dolton man was charged with first-degree murder in connection with a shooting last November in the Englewood neighborhood.

What we know:
The shooting happened around 9:20 p.m. on Nov. 6 during an argument between 34-year-old Mardy Williams and two other people in the 7000 block of South Ashland Avenue, according to Chicago police.
Police said Williams was involved in the shooting of a 36-year-old man, who suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest.
The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The Cook County medical examiner's office identified him as Benjamin Cruz.
Williams was arrested Monday in the Gresham neighborhood. He was charged with one felony count of first-degree murder.

Williams has a detention hearing scheduled for Thursday.
