Firefighters battle massive blaze at Northwest Side laundromat
CHICAGO (SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE) - Crews battled a blaze for hours early Monday at a laundromat in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood.
At 1:50 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire at the JM Laundromat at 5130 W. Fullerton, according to Chicago Police and Fire Media Affairs.
By 3:20 a.m. the roof had collapsed and crews were using four master streams from the outside to combat the flames that engulfed the one-story building, fire officials said.
The fire was struck out by 5:18 a.m., and no injuries were reported, fire officials said.
No. 74 Fullerton buses were rerouted in both directions via Fullerton, Laramie, Diversey, Cicero and Fullerton according to the CTA.
