Joliet man charged in 2023 road rage shooting on Dan Ryan Expressway

    • Kenneth Curry III, 22, has been charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm in connection with a road rage shooting on the Dan Ryan Expressway on Nov. 13, 2023.
    • Curry allegedly fired multiple shots at a victim’s vehicle, but no one was injured.
    • Curry was arrested on Feb. 3, 2025, by ISP and FBI agents and is being held at the Chicago Police Department pending his first court appearance.

CHICAGO - A Joliet man is behind bars after allegedly opening fire on a vehicle during a road rage incident on the Dan Ryan Expressway in 2023, authorities said.

Suspect Charged in Expressway Shooting 

What we know:

Kenneth Curry III, 22, is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony, in connection with the Nov. 13, 2023, shooting.

Illinois State Police responded at 4:18 p.m. to a report of a shooting on southbound I-94 near 120th Street. 

Curry allegedly fired a weapon at the victim’s vehicle, striking it multiple times. The victims were not injured.

Curry Arrested :

Curry was arrested by ISP and FBI agents on Feb. 3, 2025.  

His case was presented to the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and his charge was filed. 

What's next:

Curry is being held at the Chicago Police Department pending his first court appearance.
