A conviction in a bizarre 2-year-old case.

A Gainesville man who tried to carry out a twisted plan to pay strangers to rape his wife will spend two years behind bars.

Timothy Garrett, 52, was arrested in 2015 after posting an ad on Craigslist.

The ad caught the attention of Hall County investigators who set up an undercover sting.

Garrett was eventually arrested after paying an undercover deputy who was pretending to sell date rape drugs.

After serving two years in prison, Garrett will spend eight years on probation.
