PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) A mother says her 8-year-old son who is a third grader at Ziegler Elementary School
in Northeast Philadelphia soiled his pants yesterday after the teacher refused to let him use the bathroom. The child's mom says the reason he had already gone once before.

"I raised my hand twice to go to the bathroom and she said no and when I said I had to go really bad she said yes," the boy told FOX 29.

But the child did not make it on time. His mother says to make matters worse he was given pants to change into but remained in his soiled underwear for the rest of the school day.

"I'm sure he was uncomfortable. I'm just furious. I can't believe it  It's humiliating to my son," the mother explained.

According to the mother, the third grader had to walk home that way with other children teasing him.

"I want answers. I want to confront this teacher and ask her what made her want my child to sit there in his feces. What could he have done to make her want to torture him like that?" the mother said.

This mother is also irate that she was never called about what allegedly happened. She says her son behaves in school and is on the honor roll. He even showed FOX 29 his award for being student of the month. Now,he doesn't want to go back.

"i feel scared.  I'm sad about what happened," the boy said.

"Our expectations are that  child is respected and treated well and they would help him change and feel better and contact parents on time and it looks like that didn't happen here," Philadelphia District spokesperson Fernando Gallard told FOX 29.
