Soft lockdown lifted at four Bolingbrook schools

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (STMW) - A lockdown has been lifted at four schools in southwest suburban Bolingbrook after a reported shooting in the village Monday morning.

Bolingbrook High School, Jane Addams High School, Independence Elementary and Oak View Elementary were temporarily placed on soft lockdown, according to a statement on the Valley View CUSD 365U website.

The lockdown has been lifted as of 11 a.m. and classes have resumed normal schedules, according to the statement.

Bolingbrook police could not immediately provide information about the incident. Unconfirmed reports said two people were killed in a shooting earlier in the suburb.
