SoxFest takes over Ramova Theatre in Bridgeport

The Chicago White Sox will welcome fans to SoxFest Live starting today. They changed the game plan, holding it in an historic place.

The backstory:

The White Sox and the storied Ramova Theatre, they’re both on a comeback in their neighborhood, Bridgeport. It’s going to be a different kind of SoxFest.

White Sox fans will get to be up close and personal with the new players and Manager Will Venable and General Manager Chris Getz, who will walk the "black carpet" to open White Sox Live.

Fans will get to see former White Sox pitchers, Mark Buehrle, Jose Contreras, and Freddy Garcia. The Ramova Theatre experience will be about the fans who endured last season, which was historically bad, but they can look toward the renewal and rebirth of spring.

Sheena Quinn, senior director of public relations for the White Sox, said, "This is all about reintroduction, right? A resurgence. So we’re excited to bring a young group of guys here today. They’re so looking forward to this. They’re so looking forward to meeting our fans. It’s all about creating that connection and community building. It’s going to be the perfect event, and it’s really going to be a party. And what’s a party without some real conversation, some Q and A but we also have live music and entertainment. It’s gonna be really fun."

The White Sox are marking history, 20 years since the team won the World Series, 125 years as an organization, and another new season in Bridgeport.
