Chicago Public Schools are providing free meals for students during winter break. 

Among the requests, the Chicago activists want the city to require proof of vaccination for all indoor activities, like dining and shopping.

“We know that families will be gathering for the holidays, so we are providing these tests to our students who may be at most risk so we can reduce the spread of COVID and protect our school communities."

Ending nearly a decade of litigation, Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Teachers Union have reached a $9.25 million settlement over the layoffs of entire school staffs that disproportionately affected hundreds of Black educators on the South and West sides.
