Chicago will round out the week with another 80 degree day ahead of a cold front coming in on Sunday into early next week.

If you like your Septembers on the warm side, then I have some good news. Chicago ended up with a relatively warm and dry August and September is starting off the same way.

We open with some fog once again in a few spots away from the city. The rest of the day will be sunny and warm with highs warming into the mid 80s except right along the lake.

It won't be long until the curtain goes up on our annual fall color show in the Chicago area. The short range forecast looks good for this year's show but the longest range forecasts could diminish the performance for leaf peepers.

After any fog dissipates later this morning we will enjoy plenty of sunshine and highs similar to yesterday’s 80 degrees. Not much wind.  

A few light showers will be possible along with some drizzle this morning. Skies will be sunnier west and later in the day when highs will reach the mid to upper 70s.
