Chicago weather: Beautiful day in store with warmup in near future

There should be a little less smoke in the sky today with warmer temperatures.

Anticipate sunshine with highs around 80 degrees except right along the lake. Tonight will be clear with lows in the mid 50s to around 60 degrees in the city.

Sunshine mixes with clouds tomorrow and it will be warmer-likely mid 80s all the way to the beaches.

Showers arrive during the wee hours of Sunday morning with amounts unlikely to make much of a dent in the worsening drought. Showers are likely to move away by late afternoon, and it now looks less likely there will be additional showers in our area Monday or Tuesday.

Though showers aren't completely ruled out during that period, chances appear really slim. It will be much cooler Sunday and Monday with highs around 70 degrees. Warmer temps return next week.
