Austin shooting: Man gunned down on Chicago's West Side

CHICAGO - A 61-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday night on Chicago's West Side.

Around 6:25 p.m., the male victim was near the sidewalk in the 100 block of N. Kilpatrick Ave. when he was struck in the back by gunfire.

Police say he was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

Nobody was reported in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
