Eisenhower High dean of students charged with soliciting sex act

A dean of students at a south suburban high school, who had twice before been caught soliciting a sex act during sting operations, was arrested again Thursday in west suburban Proviso Township.

Terrence Murphy, 48, was charged with solicitation of a sex act, a misdemeanor, after Thursday’s undercover operation, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.

When Murphy responded to an advertisement on Backpage.com and arrived at a hotel in Proviso Township, he recognized the woman as a sheriff’s officer from a previous operation, according to the sheriff’s office. He tried to leave, but officers arrested him.

Murphy was first cited for violation of the county’s public morals nuisance law on Feb. 5 after a Vice Unit sting in Stickney; and again on March 24 after an operation in Palos Township, according to the sheriff’s office.

Murphy, of Bellwood, is a dean of students at Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, according to the sheriff’s office and the school’s website.

Attempts to reach officials at the school were unsuccessful Friday afternoon.
