Legendary Chicago Bulls player Michael Jordan celebrated his birthday on Tuesday. He turned 52.
Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Bulls nearly 31 years ago on June 19, 1984.
Then-general manager of the Bulls Rod Thorn had spoken to the University of North Carolina's coach Dean Smith extensively about Jordan. However, the Bulls had not even brought the star athlete in for a pre-draft workout.
On June 19, 1984, then-NBA commissioner David Stern approached the draft podium and spoke words that changed the world of basketball forever.
"The Chicago Bulls pick Michael Jordan of the University of North Carolina."
Since Jordan's retirement from playing in the NBA, besides for managing the Charlotte Hornets, he puts a lot of focus on his golf game.
