Police: Man grabbed, abused 12-year-old girl in South Side alley
CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are searching for a man who grabbed a 12-year-old girl in a Jackson Park Highlands neighborhood alley and inappropriately touched her Sunday evening on the South Side.
She was walking in the west alley of the 6800 block of South Merrill when he grabbed her from behind about 7 p.m., according to a community alert from Grand Crossing District police.
He made “inappropriate physical contact” with her before she managed to break free and run home, the alert said.
The attacker is described as a black man between 35 and 40 years old, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 and 130 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded jacket with dirty tan pants, black work boots and gloves, police said.
