CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Parts of Wacker Drive will be closed for bridge repairs near Lake Shore Drive starting Monday.

The westbound ramp from intermediate Wacker/Lake Shore Drive to Upper Wacker will shut down Monday for ongoing pin and link structural repairs, according to a statement from the Chicago Department of Transportation.

The ramp will temporarily reopen April 22 to accommodate traffic for the NFL Draft, CDOT said. Once the draft is over, the ramp will close again for six more weeks.

The detour will direct traffic from westbound Wacker to Columbus, South Water Street, Wabash and Upper Wacker, according to CDOT. Drivers coming from Lake Shore are encouraged to use Grand or Randolph as westbound alternatives.
