Schools and businesses in Dixmoor remain closed as the town deals with a major water crisis.

For days now, there has been little or no water coming out of the pipes in the Chicago suburb of Dixmoor. They've fixed broken pipes and broken turbines, and still the 4,000 residents do not have any water. Businesses and schools are closed.

On Saturday, officials said a broken water main was slowing water pressure. That's since been fixed, but now the turbines need to be repaired, and experts won't be able to even look at the turbines until Monday.

The Village told FOX 32 Chicago that water pressure fell to half its normal level on Saturday, which effectively cut off the water supply for all Dixmoor residents. Water pressure has to be at least 35 pounds of pressure per square inch to get water to all the homes in Dixmoor, but pressure has fallen to single digits.

A new initiative was launched Wednesday to focus on cases of women who've been missing for years.

A 25-year-old woman was reported missing from south suburban Dixmoor.

Cook County prosecutors also charged Dixmoor Commander Ronald Burge Jr. with official misconduct.

Chicago police officers who helped deliver a baby last April followed up with a baby shower on Tuesday.
