The Kankakee County Coroner's Office said Bert N. Lawton, 52, of Grant Park, crashed at 2:45 a.m. at at approximately 14000 East and 4000 North Road.
The National Weather Service confirmed four tornadoes touched down during the storms in the Chicago area Friday night. There were two EF-1s and two EF-0s all generally in the south and western suburbs.
There have been more than 120 tornadoes in Illinois so far this year, a huge increase over last year's 80.
Before Friday night's storm, there had already been 119 tornadoes reported in Illinois so far this season, making it the state with the highest tornado count in the country.
