Governor JB Pritzker hinted Tuesday that "certain mask mandates" may be removed in time for the holidays, as Illinois COVID metrics continue to trend in the right direction over recent weeks.

The Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) investigated 74 businesses from Oct. 14 through Oct. 17.

Officials announced Florida, Hawaii and Washington D.C. have been removed Chicago's travel advisory Tuesday with 45 states and two territories remaining on the list.

The specific issue to be discussed at Wednesday's hearing is whether Judge Cecilia Horan should recuse herself from the case. Over the weekend, the FOP realized that Horan is associated with the city's Gay and Lesbian Bar Association. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is a lesbian.

To sweeten the deal, the district is giving everyone who meets the mandate an extra day off.

"Does anybody really think this is about stopping the spread?" said FOP President John Catanzara. "This is all about total control by this mayor. She is a miserable human being."

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Monday announced that 79% of city employees have confirmed their vaccination status through the city’s online portal. Of those who confirmed their status, 84% were fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

NO RETIREMENT BENEFITS? Chicago's top cop David Brown is threatening to deny retirement benefits to those who choose to retire from the job rather than comply with the city's COVID-19 vaccination policy, according to local reports.

Chicago Fraternal Police union president John Catanzara blasted the city again Monday, saying Chicago's vaccine rules are preventing officers from doing their jobs.

Students who do not comply will face “automatic withdrawal.”
