It was a more than 75-year wait, but the remains of a soldier killed during World War II have come home to the Chicago area.

The first of its kind Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is set to open next month in Will County.

It's been over four decades since a woman's decomposing remains were found in New Lenox.

"They hear wheelchair basketball, and they think it's something that's a pity party, but it's not, wheelchair basketball is a sport," said Keith Wallace the Executive Director of the Lincolnway Special Recreation District in New Lenox.

New Lenox police released surveillance images Friday of multiple suspects involved in an I-80 police chase and carjacking that took place Thursday in the suburbs.

William Vranicar of "Top Notch Incorporated," "Express Cabinetry" and "Express Kitchen and Bath" is charged with multiple felonies. Will County detectives say he stole customer's deposits, never did the work, or did the work so badly that they had to have it redone by someone else.

The suspects wanted for the New Lenox burglaries have allegedly committed similar crimes in the Chicagoland area. They are also driving a stolen SUV.

“I was mad. I personally don’t like being online. I wish we were in-person. I feel like I learn better that way,” senior Jenna Hall said.

Police fatally shot a man Monday morning who allegedly shot his father and beat his mother in southwest suburban New Lenox.

His family says if he was treated properly by New Lenox police and Silver Cross Hospital staff, Qusai would've never wandered into traffic and been hit by a car.

In Chicago and the suburbs, at least 15 hospitals were packed with patients and reporting more than 90% of the beds were taken. One hospital, Silver Cross in New Lenox, was at 100% capacity.
