Calm weather today will give way to strong winds Friday with gusts up to 60 mph and a chance for rain and snow heading into the weekend.

From Kankakee to Lake Village, the National Weather Service confirms an EF-3 tornado hit parts of Illinois and Indiana. Unfortunately this severe weather event turned fatal.
