A 37-year-old man from West Lawn is charged with sexually assaulting four girls and boy he is familiar with.
Aurora Padilla was last seen March 5 in the 3700 block of West 66th Place, Chicago police said in a missing person alert.
The victim was driving a blue Chevrolet Malibu west about 1:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of West 63rd Street when a tow truck ran several red lights and struck the car, Chicago police said.
The 1-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation, police said.
A 15-year-old boy is missing from West Lawn on the South Side.
Francisco Meza, 23, was last seen at 10:24 p.m. Thursday in the 6300 block of South Keeler Avenue, according to a missing person alert from Chicago police.
“I was talking to him through the whole ordeal,” Officer Saul Avila said at the award ceremony. “I was holding his hand, reassuring him … I wanted him to know, ‘We’re here for you.’”
Lourdes Pardo and Erik Hernandez, 14-year-olds who were reported missing from Chicago Lawn and were last seen Nov. 1, 2019, have been found safe, Chicago police said.
A teenage girl who was reported missing from West Lawn on the Southwest Side has been found safe, Chicago police said.
