A fiery crash in Franklin Park left two young people dead and multiple others injured.

Firefighters in the Village of Franklin Park are changing their uniform for a month and selling the t-shirts they'll be wearing in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. They're raising money for two local charities and helping honor the growing Hispanic culture in the Chicago area.

A Melrose Park man has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 9-year-old boy who was killed while celebrating his grandmother's birthday in Franklin Park over the weekend.

Ulysses Campos was playing with his cousins at a 70th birthday party for his grandmother in Franklin Park when shots were fired from a car driving down the alley. Campos was hit in the chest and died, two weeks shy of turning 10.

Franklin Park was founded by a train passing through, now each year they celebrate Railroad Day in June. Railroad Day is celebrated with Franklin Park Fest which lasts through Sunday afternoon with free live music, food vendors, a carnival for the kids and a beer and wine garden for the adults.

Two cars of a Canadian Pacific train derailed in a suburb of Chicago on Sunday. The train derailment happened around 12:45 p.m. in Franklin Park, leading to closed crossings and hours? worth of cleanup. One car was carrying wheat and the other was empty, Canadian Pacific said in a statement.
