Chicago embraces chilly weather as temps drop overnight

We have lake-effect rain showers expected through early afternoon in Chicago, lingering in northwest Indiana until mid to late afternoon. Gusty winds are possible today up to 30 or 35 mph out of the northeast.

Thursday's warm temps will plunge dramatically heading into weekend

Overnight sprinkles are moving out. The rest of the morning and into early afternoon will feature a mix of clouds and sun with highs back into the low/mid 70s.

Chicago to hit mid-70s today ahead of late-week cooldown

Today will not be as perfectly sunny but every bit as warm, if not a tad warmer, than Tuesday. Mid-70s look like a solid this afternoon.
