Chicago set a new record for heat on Wednesday, as the temperature hit 90 degrees at O'Hare International Airport, where official records are kept. The previous record high there for today's date was 89 degrees, set back in 1982.

Skies will be partly to mostly sunny with highs reaching the upper 80s once again with western and southwestern parts of our viewing area making another run past 90 degrees.

Today’s record high is 90 degrees set 11 years ago. We could come close to touching that mark Tuesday.
