Winter weather is coming for Chicago today with possible flurries this weekend

Well it was sure fun while it lasted. Every day this month has been warmer than normal, and somewhat surprisingly, today will likely be as well.  

Tropical Storm Nicole lashing Florida with strong winds, heavy rains after landfall

Nicole made landfall along the east coast of Florida as a Category 1 hurricane early Thursday just south of Vero Beach. The system has since downgraded to a tropical storm. 

Advocates for people with disabilities ask city of Chicago to plow sidewalks

Mobility advocacy groups are calling for the city to take on the responsibility of clearing sidewalks of snow. Advocates say it would help those with disabilities navigate sidewalks during winter months.

Record-breaking warmth in store for Chicago today

Skies will be partly sunny and there will be a stiff breeze out of the south. We will break a record for the warmest low on this date. That record is currently 52 degrees set in 1949. It will stay warmer than that through 11:59 p.m.
