A semi-truck burned up the afternoon drive in the south suburbs Tuesday.

Shaina Davis of La Grange has been charged with one count of child abduction. She's been released on bond.

Shortly before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Maywood police received a call of a child abduction that happened at 1701 South 1st Avenue.

New details were released Thursday afternoon after a house fire left an elderly woman hospitalized in La Grange.

Christina Lopez was taking a Metra train to visit her sister in La Grange, as she often did, when it hit a truck stopped across the tracks and she was thrown out a window, the family attorney said.

The attack resulted in the 14-year-old victim needing medical treatment, Western Springs police said.

A local vegetable gardener found that if he grows it, they will come.

Some parents that FOX 32 talked to say they can understand the reasoning behind switching to remote learning during a snowstorm, but sometimes they say it’s good to just let kids be kids.

“This case is the definition of a tragedy,” said DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin. “The senseless loss of two innocent lives will forever be on the shoulders of Mr. Rodea-Cruz."

The victim was a 33-year-old man from La Grange. He was hospitalized with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

"It's about us as Americans that we can come together. We're in the middle of a pandemic and everything is political, but there was once a time in our country where we stood together as one and we hope this is one of those moments as well."
