A 23-year-old man who was shot to death at Stretch's Sports Bar and Grill in Waukegan early Saturday morning has been identified.

The National Weather Service said that even though snowfall amounts will be minor, the cold pavement could result in unusually hazardous travel.

If rolling power outages are needed, a city official said the first customers impacted would have about 15 minutes notice. The next power outage areas would be given 1 to 2 hours notice. Customers could be without power for 2 hours.

A man in his 20s was shot to death at Stretch's Sports Bar and Grill in Waukegan early Saturday morning. 

The victims are in their late teens and live in Waukegan, police said.

Police are investigating four armed carjackings that occurred within 24 hours in Waukegan.

Leily Lopez-Hernandez was cleaning inside a building when she was injured, the Lake County coroner’s office said.

Cooper’s spinal cord was severed by a bullet, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. He also suffered organ damage and continues to receive therapy following the shooting at a July 4 celebration in Highland Park.

A woman and a 13-year-old boy who were killed in a train versus car crash in Lake County Sunday afternoon have been identified.

An inmate died after she was found unresponsive in her cell Friday at Lake County Jail.

The crossing's warning lights and gates lowered prior to a westbound train crossing the roadway, the sheriff's office said. The Elantra did not slow down and drove through the gate, directly in the path of the train.

"Robert Crimo Jr., again the father, took a reckless and unjustified risk when he decided on Dec. 16, 2019, to sign his son's application for a firearm owner's ID, or FOID card. At the time he signed the application, his son was 19 and could not — let me say that again — could not get a FOID card, and because of that, could not legally purchase a firearm without his father's assistance in that application process," Lake County officials said.

The man was not been wearing a seatbelt and was thrown 30 feet from his car.

A Beach Pack man is facing charges for firing a gun in a parking lot Friday night.

Democrats who control the General Assembly are positioning a wide-ranging gun law for a vote as early as next month, during a lame-duck session. That follows Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s call last summer for a semi-automatic weapons ban.

The cameras at Route 83 and 22nd Street will continue operation until at least May.
