It is a warm start to September in Chicago

If you like your Septembers on the warm side, then I have some good news. Chicago ended up with a relatively warm and dry August and September is starting off the same way.

Sunshine abounds today in Chicago with temps in the 80s

We open with some fog once again in a few spots away from the city. The rest of the day will be sunny and warm with highs warming into the mid 80s except right along the lake.

Naperville receives grant to replace trees damaged by tornado

Naperville is getting some extra help to replace the trees damaged by last year's tornado, and it's a $15,000 grant from the USDA.

It won't be long until the curtain goes up on our annual fall color show in the Chicago area. The short range forecast looks good for this year's show but the longest range forecasts could diminish the performance for leaf peepers.
