Illinois sets a new record for the largest hailstone ever.

An attacker armed with a rifle was shot and killed after ramming his vehicle into one of the nation's largest reform synagogues.   Law enforcement sources identified the man to fox as 41-year-old Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, a Lebanese national , who entered the U.S. in 2011.  He was later naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 2016.  The attack comes at a time of heightened tensions for the Jewish community. Garrett Tenney reports.

A Chicago woman is speaking out after she says she was attacked in a downtown hate crime, describing a moment that has left her shaken and distrustful. For safety, she is identified only as Jada.

A victim and gunman are dead after a shooting on the campus of Old Dominion University.  Two other victims were hurt-- they are stable.

The Civilian Office of Police accountability is investigating a deadly police shooting in Humboldt Park. Police say they tried to stop a car they say was linked to an earlier expressway shooting.  Tia Ewing is back from speaking with the family.

Near Detroit, a person is dead after ramming a vehicle into a synagogue.  Security shot at the vehicle, but it is not clear if their gunfire killed the suspect.  That's because the truck caught fire, and the suspect's body was found badly burned inside.  Synagogues around the world have been on alert and ramping up security since the war on Iran started. Joining us to talk about what happened today and security precautions is former Secret Service agent G. Michael Verden, founder of the Lake Forest Group.
