"They tried to bribe him with McDonald's and saying, ‘look just tell us you were there," family attorney Kevin O’Connor said.

Waukegan police said that Desteny Rodriguez was among four people who met up in the Walmart parking lot to “trade” guns. Rodriguez attempted to rob the two people in the other group, police said, and shots were fired.

Waukegan Police said that when officers arrived at the Walmart at about 1:30 p.m., they found signs that there had been a shooting, but no victims. One of the victims was found inside a car that had been in a car crash, and another was dumped at a hospital.
