Homer Glen street fight is going to court

The southwest suburban street fight isn't over yet. Last week, residents celebrated a win with the county board in Homer Glen, voting to stop an expansion of 143rd Street. But, on Friday, the Homer Township Board voted to take their fight to court. They approved a lawsuit to try to overturn the veto.

Will County Executive vetoes 143rd Street expansion resolution

Homer Glen residents have been fighting to stop the expansion of 143rd Street. The Will County Board voted to press pause on the project, however, the county executive vetoed the resolution, saying the expansion is necessary for traffic demands and public safety.

Homer Glen expansion project stopped

The Homer Glen mayor says the Will County board voted 12 to 11 to cease the expansion of 143rd Street to five lanes between Lemont and Bell Roads.
