An Oswego man has been found guilty of murdering two Aurora residents who were simply just leaving a restaurant as it closed for the night.

Registration opened Monday for Aurora's free snow shoveling program, and they are already booked up.

The free program pairs 150 Aurora seniors and residents with disabilities with volunteers who will shovel their snow for free. The volunteers are dispatched to driveways, walkways and sidewalks when there's more than two inches of snow.

“I can’t believe it, I’m still having a hard time believing this – I’m in total shock.”

The City of Aurora said the mall's location on Route 59 allowed people from Aurora, Naperville and other nearby communities to celebrate at this first-of-its-kind event.

Police found several people hanging out the second-floor windows, screaming for help. They grabbed a ladder in the backyard and helped rescued five victims.

The city said that more than 50,000 cars toured the Festival of Lights in 2020.
